Watch Bukayo Saka finish off flowing Arsenal move reminiscent of the Gunners’ glory days against West Brom

BUKAYO SAKA finished off a flowing Arsenal move in Saturday’s 4-0 win at West Brom to bring back memories of their glory days.

The England winger fired home to make it 2-0 at the Hawthorns after some excellent one-touch passing and intricate movements from a number of Gunners stars.

The sequence evoked memories of Arsenal at their prime under Arsene Wenger.

And the strike put the visitors in total control, delighting current boss Mikel Arteta.

Speaking after the rampant Gunners’ 4-0 win, Saka said: “It was an amazing team goal and luckily I got the tap-in. I love those goals.

“It was so cold but I was getting so many touches in good positions so I enjoyed the game a lot.

“The perfect way to start the new year, we’ve won three in a row so we want to keep building. We’re really happy with the performance.”

Saka’s goal was an excellent team one indeed – but it may have been upstaged by Kieran Tierney’s mind-blowing solo strike minutes before.

The marauding left-back turned his man with a bit of trickery before bombing up the wing and cutting inside.

Despite being angled on his right foot, Tierney let fly with a curler from distance that flew past Sam Johnstone into the back of the net.

Saka added: “KT deserved that.

“He’s put in amazing performances all year and that was something we’ve never seen before from him, right foot, top corner.”

Two second-half goals from Alexandre Lacazette turned it into to rout and the day couldn’t have got much better for Arsenal, who have put a barren run behind them now.

Fortunes changed when the Gunners comfortable beat Chelsea at the Emirates on Boxing Day.

And they followed that win up with a midweek victory at Brighton.

Arsenal will now get a week’s rest before next Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Newcastle.

They follow that up with a midweek league game against Crystal Palace.

And Arsenal then host Steve Bruce’s Toon again before seeing out January with matches against Southampton and Manchester United.
