CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN’S dream move away from Spurs has turned into a nightmare.
But the 28-year-old is not the first player that has seen their career crumble after leaving North London.

And judging by this list, he is not going to be the last.
SunSport have pulled together SEVEN players that made the mistake of leaving Tottenham.

Despite only joining Inter Milan in January 2020, he looks set to leave the Italian club next month.
He has struggled for both form and game time since his £17million move to the Serie A giants.
Eriksen was a regular at Spurs – but he has managed just 275 minutes of league football this term.
During his six-and-a-half-year spell in North London, he scored 69 goals and made 89 assists in 305 appearances.

Club legend Keane still sits at 11th in Tottenham’s all-time goalscoring list.
He became one of 17 players to hit 100 goals for Spurs, lifted the League Cup in 2008 and reached 300 appearances.
Keane left the club in 2008 to join league rivals Liverpool – but that was a move he came to regret.
After a disappointing spell at Anfield, he came straight back to Spurs where he belonged.

Sandro
Sandro became a fan favourite at Spurs after he joined from Internacional in 2010.
But he regrets leaving the Premier League giants for QPR just four years later.
Speaking about the transfer interest in him at the time, he said: “It wasn’t just City. There were other clubs.
“But in it was City that came in with an official offer. In the end, I stepped back.
“I have a really special affection for Tottenham and I didn’t want to lose what I’d built.”

David Bentley
Tottenham had high hopes for Bentley when he joined them from Blackburn in 2008.
But the former England international failed to impress and was shipped out on loan four times.
In 2009, he announced his retirement from football at the age of 29.
He admitted he had ‘fallen out of love with the game’, which left fans were left wondering what could have been for Bentley at Spurs.

Paul Robinson
Robinson made his name with Spurs after he joined from Leeds a £1.5m deal in 2004.
During his five seasons with Spurs, he made a whopping 175 appearances.
He also cemented his spot as England’s No1 during his spell in North London.
But his career went drastically downhill after he joined Blackburn in 2008.

Pascal Chimbonda
Chimbonda arrived at Spurs after he was signed from Wigan for £4.5m in 2006.
He proved his potential during his two-year spell – but it came to an end way too soon.
The full-back was snapped up by Sunderland before being signed again… then sold again.
He now plays for for tenth tier non-league side Ashton Town, aged 41.

A promising rise through the ranks at Tottenham led to spells with Cardiff, QPR and Liverpool.
He left Spurs to move to Wales in 2013, but Cardiff were relegated straight back to the Championship.
Individually, he continued to impress but he failed to reach the heights he could have in North London.
Earlier this year, Caulker revealed the ‘pain’ his alcohol and gambling addiction caused during his career.
