Why has Everton vs Man City been postponed?
Everton vs Man City was called off following a number of positive Covid tests in the City squad.
Kyle Walker and Gabriel Jesus were both confirmed as having the virus on Christmas Day.
And it now appears that further players in Pep Guardiola’s team have tested positive, forcing the game to be abandoned.
When is Everton vs Man City re-arranged date?
- A re-arranged date for Everton vs Man City has yet to be confirmed.
- The teams will not be able to play next week as Man City are away at Man Utd in the EFL Cup semi-final on Wednesday, January 6.
- There is a free matchday on the midweek commencing Monday, January 18, in which neither side is in action.
- However Man City also have to face Aston Villa at home in a re-arranged fixture so it is possible that that free midweek slot could be used for that match instead.
- Man City’s training ground has been closed for an indefinite period after the Covid-secure bubble was breached, which may force them to re-arrange other games as well.
