Sky Sports viewers were left wondering whether the fan had even seen Schlupp’s goal despite some jubilant fist pumping.
One fan asked on Twitter: “How is he watching the game?”
Another tweeted: “Surely he didn’t see the goal.”
“Beyond hilarious,” said another fan.
Referring to fans being allowed back into football stadiums again, one added: “Football is halfway back.”
With London currently falling under Tier 2 guidelines, Selhurst Park was able to host 2,000 fans for Sunday’s clash.
Under the new Covid restrictions, up to 4,000 fans are able to attend Premier League matches in Tier 1 areas, provided they are wearing face masks.
That last detail seemed to have affected the Palace fan pictured above, as the breath from under his mask contributed to his foggy outlook.
Spurs had taken a first-half lead in Sunday’s match after Harry Kane’s long-range effort wrong-footed Crystal Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.
But Roy Hodgson’s side scored a deserved equaliser with ten minutes to go when Hugo Lloris failed to deal with Eberechi Eze’s free-kick and presented Schlupp with the opportunity to make it 1-1.
Guaita made up for his first-half error with a string of brilliant saves, including one in the dying moments of the match to keep out Eric Dier’s free-kick, as Palace held on for a point.
