Chelsea overtake Arsenal in all-time Premier League wins and now only trail Man Utd after Leeds comeback victory

CHELSEA’S comeback victory over Leeds means they overtook Arsenal in the all-time list of Premier League wins.

And now the Blues only trail Manchester United at the top of the pile.

Goals from Olivier Giroud, Kurt Zouma and Christian Pulisic ensured Frank Lampard’s side came from behind to see off Leeds.

And the victory, which saw the Blues go top of the table overnight, was a significant one as they jumped ahead of London rivals Arsenal.

It was win No584 in the Premier League for Chelsea with the Gunners just behind on 583.

Ironically, Mikel Arteta’s team started the 2020-21 season one Premier League win ahead of Lampard’s.

However, both teams remain well off leaders Manchester United.

The Red Devils are a whopping 88 wins clear of Chelsea in second, with the comeback win at West Ham on Saturday victory their 672nd since the top-flight’s reformation.

That means even if Chelsea won every game for two seasons in a row and United did not win a single match in that time, the Stamford Bridge club would still trail by 12.

Unsurprisingly, Liverpool are close behind the top three on 567 victories.

Tottenham are fifth on 468 going into this weekend’s North London derby with Arsenal followed by four-time champions Manchester City with 422.

Ever-present Everton are next on the all-time wins list with 395 while Newcastle (361), Aston Villa (330) and West Ham (305) complete the top ten.

Despite their 16-year absence from the top flight between 2004 and 2020, Leeds are 13th on 193, 12 clear of 2015-16 champions Leicester.
