BRIGHTON striker Neal Maupay suffered a day to forget against Liverpool – missing a penalty before going off injured.
Just 20 minutes had passed in the Saturday lunchtime kick-off when the Seagulls were given a glorious chance to open the scoring.

Neco Williams felled Aaron Connolly in the box and referee Stuart Attwell pointed to the spot.
Even though Alisson Becker dived the wrong way, Maupay’s hard and low shot flew wide of the post.
And the Frenchman’s afternoon got even worse just moments later.
After a fairly innocuous piece of play, he hit the deck and required treatment.
Brighton’s physios decided that Maupay could not continue and he was taken out of the game, to be replaced by Leandro Trossard.
However, Brighton also had an escape in the first-half at the AmEx when Mohamed Salah was ruled offside by VAR.
The Egyptian thought he had opened the scoring on 34 minutes only for a tight call to go against him on review.
Maupay had already scored two penalties this season, against Newcastle and Manchester United.
His only previous miss from the spot came at Leicester at the back-end of last season.
VAR deemed Mohamed Salah’s goal to be offside later in the half
And the 24-year-old has failed to score in two months since starting the season on top form with four goals in as many matches.
It was certainly not the first time Liverpool have benefitted from an opponent’s skew-whiff penalty this year.
Kevin De Bruyne remarkably shot off target in their encounter with Manchester City earlier this month.
