RYAN GIGGS fears Manchester United will have to wait 20 YEARS to reclaim the Premier League title.
The Red Devils have not won the top-flight since legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson bowed out in 2013.

But Giggs concedes the current power of champions Liverpool, who endured a torrid 30-year gap between titles, and Manchester City could extend United’s barren run much longer.
When asked by Kop legend Jamie Carragher if Giggs is worried his former club could follow Liverpool’s long wait, he replied: “Yes, 100 per cent. It could be 15, 20 years before you know it, especially if (Jurgen) Klopp and (Pep) Guardiola stick around.
“They have got the resources and the players so we have Liverpool to look at where the last time when they won it in 1990 they thought we’ll win it again soon.
“Even Klopp took four and a half years for him to win it – it takes a long time. You have to think about what Klopp did.
“He improved the team every season or won a trophy like the Champions League and then you saw the improvement so the pressure was off a little bit.
“Every manager and signing is seen as that he will win us the league and it’s not like that.”
Giggs lifted the Prem trophy 13 times during a glittering playing career at Old Trafford but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, who finished third last season, have had a miserable league start and lie 15th in the table ahead of Sunday’s visit of Arsenal.
But the Wales boss is adamant Liverpool remain United’s major rivals.
Giggs, speaking on the Greatest Game Podcast, said: “The best feeling I always had was leaving Anfield after winning even if Liverpool weren’t the best side at the time.
“I played for Salford boys and our toughest games were always against Bootle, Liverpool, Kirkby, Sefton.
“As soon as you went down the East Lancs it was a mindset it’s going to be a tough game and a test of not just your footballing ability but also your mental strength.”
Giggs is happy in his role as Wales boss heading into the Euros next summer but also admits his chance of becoming a future United boss have gone.
The 46-year-old, who had four games as caretaker after David Moyes before a two-year spell as assistant to Louis van Gaal, added: “I wanted the job after those four games but I wasn’t ready. I was definitely ready after Louis and I wanted the job then but I was nowhere near it.
“I’m more ready but I think that’s gone now. I think the chance has gone. I’ve done it. Of course, it’s an amazing job but it’s not like I am desperate to manage Manchester United.
“I have managed Manchester United, okay, it was for only four games but, no, I can’t see that coming around again.
“I’m enjoying the Wales job at the moment. There’s lots of pluses, there’s lots of frustrations. Eventually I will want to go into club management. When that is I don’t know.”
Giggs revealed how he was punched in the stomach by LVG during their first meeting in 2014.
He said: “He was quirky and 100 per cent funny without knowing it. He was very dominating, direct and in your face. The first time I met him he punched me in the stomach!
“I met him at the hotel and opened the door, he looked at me up and down and said: ‘You are in good shape.’ Then punched me in the stomach. It was hard as well.
“What do you do there? It could have been me out of a job. But that’s what he’s like.”
