Liverpool boost with Fabinho injury NOT as bad as first feared with concerns Brazilian could be out for SIX MONTHS

Doctors initially worried that the Brazilian had suffered a grade-three tear on his hamstring.

Such an injury would have kept Fabinho, 27, out for as long as six months.

But according to the Mirror, the tear is only grade-one or two, meaning the versatile midfielder should be back sooner.

There is now optimism at Anfield that Fabinho could return after the November international break.

While this is undoubtedly positive news for boss Jurgen Klopp, the German is still set to face selection headaches for the three matches in the meantime.

The Reds host in-form West Ham United on Saturday, with David Moyes’ side having held Manchester City to a 1-1 draw last weekend.

Liverpool then travel to Bergamo to face last year’s quarter-finalists Atalanta in the Champions League, before then facing title rivals Man City at the Etihad.

Injury-plagued defender Joel Matip, 29, remains a doubt, while Dejan Lovren was sold to Zenit Saint Petersburg in the summer.

Joe Gomez is fit, and could be joined in defence by 19-year-old Rhys Williams, who replaced Fabinho against Midtylland on Tuesday.

Nat Phillips, 23, spent last season on loan at VFB Stuttgart, and could make his Premier League debut for the Reds.
