MANCHESTER UNITED legend Andy Cole lifted the lid on the explosive argument with Kevin Keegan which sealed his move from Newcastle.
Cole, 49, quit St James’ Park for Old Trafford in 1995 just two years after becoming the Toon’s record signing.

The Magpies had forked out £1.75million to lure him from Bristol City in 1993 and in the intervening two years he repaid their faith by transforming into one of the most lethal top-flight finishers around.
However, he joined the Red Devils for £7m, then a British record, after a bust-up with gaffer Keegan, 69, over the treatment of his best pal and neighbour Lee Clark.
Cole told the UTD Podcast: “I know me and Kevin had a fallout, he cheesed me off with the way he treated Clarky one day.
“Then we lost a game [Wimbledon] and I was cheesed off because we lost, so when we came to the hotel Kevin told me to ‘do one’.
“And I said ‘alright, no problem’, I packed my bags and walked out. The relationship was never the same.
“I wasn’t looking to leave Newcastle, I was very happy there.
“When that episode happened at the hotel I basically said ‘nah, I’m not going to have you talking to me like that’.
“So when I went walking for five days, we had a meeting, settled it and he handed me a new contract but I don’t think he let go of that situation.”
Cole smashed a 70-year-old Newcastle goalscoring record by netting 41 times in all competitions in his first full season on Tyneside.
He combined excellently with Peter Beardsley up front and in total bagged 68 goals in 84 games.
It was another scintillating strike partnership at Old Trafford that brought Cole success as he teamed up with Dwight Yorke.
Cole smashed home 121 goals in 275 matches under Sir Alex Ferguson, picking up five Prem medals, two FA Cups and a Champions League as part of the 1999 Treble-winning side.
