Inter ‘dream’ of Kante and Chelsea star is ‘open’ to transfer but Conte must flog players to afford £46m fee

CHELSEA star N’Golo Kante is “open” to reuniting with former boss Antonio Conte at Inter Milan this summer, according to reports.

But the Italian giants must first raise money through player sales to afford the Blues’ £46million asking price.

Kante and Conte worked together at Stamford Bridge during the latter’s two-year reign in West London – winning the Premier League and FA Cup along the way.

And according to Gazzetta, Conte believes that bringing the Frenchman to Italy could be the final piece in the jigsaw when it comes to ending Juventus’ dominance and winning the Serie A title this season.

Kante, 29, has started both of Chelsea’s opening two Premier League matches this term.

But Inter are confident that the Blues will sell if offered £46m.

One man that could be sold to help raise funds is highly-rated defender Milan Skriniar.

Tottenham have held talks with Inter over signing the 25-year-old although are yet to reach agreement, with the Italians demanding £55m for the Slovak.

But even if Inter are to receive their asking price in full for the defender, some of the money will be used to recruit a replacement – having already missed out on Marash Kumbulla to Roma.

Marcelo Brozovic could be sold, with Monaco having already made an enquiry.

But Christian Eriksen will stay put, with club chiefs believing that signing Kante’s could help unleash the ex-Spurs schemer’s best football.

Matias Vecino will not be registered for their 25-man Champions League squad and is available for transfer.

And Inter are demanding £15m for forgotten man Radja Nainggolan – although Cagliari are so far unwilling to pay that sum.
