Timo Werner vows to adapt to Premier League ASAP as Chelsea new boy insists he has perfect style to suit England

TIMO WERNER has vowed to make his presence felt as quickly as possible at Chelsea.

The Germany striker, dubbed Turbo Timo, hopes he can be the answer to Chelsea’s long-running problems finding a big-name frontman to take English football by storm.

Predecessors Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata in particular did not settle well over here and are long gone.

Werner, 24, admits there is precious little time for him to adapt if he wants to fulfil his dream of winning big things with his new club.

The £47.5million star said: “The whole Premier League suits my style because it is so fast.

“Maybe I’ll need two or three games but you have no excuses as possible to say I needed ten or 15 games because we want to win and you can’t have a player who takes so long to adapt.

“I want to be in the best team as soon as possible.

“The football in the Premier League suits me well. In our two games against  Brighton sometimes they stood very deep and didn’t give a lot of space,

“Other times I had space to make runs and that is good for me.

“Football here is more about power and strength of defenders. Maybe I have to adapt a bit. But I want to play, score and win things.“

Werner also says new boss Frank Lampard helped him get up to speed in the run up to his big move from RB Leipzig.

Werner said: “The first time I met Frank was herebecaue of the virus but he called me a lot, texted me a lot and sent me some videos showing me what style of football he wants to play.

“That’s important to know when you come to a new club.”
