Wright has claimed that his old club have to secure Aubameyang’s future

SunSport has previously reported that Aubameyang has agreed a new contract worth at least £350,000 a week but he has yet to officially put pen to paper.

The Gabon star- who has scored 71 goals in 110 games for the club – was critical to Arsenal’s recent FA Cup and Community Shield success.

And the forward underlined his importance to the North Londoners once again as he scored in the 3-0 away win over Fulham on Saturday.

Analysing Arsenal’s win on Match of the Day, club legend Wright admitted it was imperative to tie down Aubameyang.

He said: “I’m going to go see Papa Aubameyang tomorrow.

“They have to sign, simple as that, I’m not going to leave. [I’ll take the contract to him personally] if I have to!”

Aubameyang’s father then uploaded a picture on Instagram of himself with Wright at the Emirates.

He captioned the picture: “What a surprise the legend @wrightyofficial came to see me. what do you think? In any case for me it was very enriching.”

And Arsenal fans loved the meet-up with one tweeting: “Big man Wrighty wasn’t kidding when he said he was bringing the contract.”

Another said: “Thought Ian was joking when he said it lol… #AgentWright.”

A third added: “Wrighty forcing aubas hand. You love to see it.”
