BARCELONA wonderkid Ansu Fati has dropped Lionel Messi’s brother as his agent in favour of football’s powerhouse Jorge Mendes, according to reports.

But reports in Marca claim he has trusted super-agent Mendes to look out for his future.

Mendes, who owns agency Gestifute, has a whole host of high profile clients including Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva and Man City stopper Ederson.

The move coincides with reports claiming Fati is set to be offered a bumper pay rise to reflect his importance in the team.

Fati is set to become an integral figure under Ronald Koeman which huge changes going on behind the scenes at the Nou Camp.

The new Dutch coach will look to the future following Barcelona’s failures on the field last season and eyes the ex-Sevilla youth player as the heir to Messi’s throne.

His release clause will rocket to a whopping £170million once he turns 18 in October.

Earlier this year he became the youngest player in LaLiga history to score twice in a game.

He also became Barcelona’s youngest ever goalscorer when he jumped off the bench to net against Osasuna in LaLiga at the end of August.

It was reported last month how Manchester United had launched an audacious offer to land the superstar.

It sparked the response from club director Xavier Vilajoana: “For us, there’s no story with Ansu, we have never spoken about selling him.

“We won’t use players from the academy to make cash.

“In principle, we have no intention of selling the players we believe will make the first team.”
