Man Utd transfer target Sancho says ‘wait and see’ over future as he reveals Liverpool icon Barnes was family favourite

JADON SANCHO has revealed he will “wait and see” what happens in regards to his future – while admitting Liverpool legend John Barnes was his dad’s idol growing up.

The England star, 20, is being chased by a host of Premier League clubs this summer, including the champions and Manchester United.

Borussia Dortmund are said to be demanding a staggering £109million for Sancho.

With clubs hit hard by coronavirus, Man Utd look like the only team able to afford that fee, as things stand.

But the Reds may just have the advantage after Sancho revealed his family’s love of former league champion Barnes.

Sancho told World Soccer magazine: “My dad was a big fan of John Barnes.

“He had a couple of videos of him at home and I used to watch them a lot.

“I used to look at Ronaldinho on YouTube. That was a big thing for me.

“He used to try things that no-one else would try and that made me like him a lot.

“I didn’t have a team that I supported, though. I just idolised a lot of great players.”

When asked about what the summer held for Sancho, the Borussia Dortmund star remained tight-lipped.

Sancho said: “I don’t know what to say to that.

“It’s hard to say. That’s the future.

“You never know what could happen, so we will wait and see.”
