Cantwell, 22, will not be short of suitors in the summer having already been linked with Manchester United and Liverpool.
But the Star reports how Chris Wilder is ready to steal a march having sent scouts to watch him in action six times this season.
The Sheffield United boss is looking to add some quality to his side, who are competing for a shock European spot.
The Blades are seventh, one point above Arsenal and just one behind Wolves after beating them 1-0 last night.
They also remain in the hunt for a Champions League spot sitting eight points behind Leicester in fourth.
Wilder believes Cantwell’s quality can take them to the next level after scoring six and assisting two in the league.
The club are prepared to pay him £40,000-a-week on a long-term deal to move to Bramall Lane.
Norwich are going to be in no rush to cash in on their main asset and will be hopeful of sparking a bidding war.
The Canaries are also expected to sell Ben Godfrey, Max Aarons and Teemu Pukki this summer.
