Wilder brands Mourinho a ‘class act’ after Tottenham boss interrupts Sheff Utd chief’s interview to hug him after loss

Sander Berge, Lys Mousset and Oli McBurnie produced the goods to dent Tottenham’s Euro hopes.

Mourinho was left furious after VAR controversially cancelled out Harry Kane’s equaliser.

But the Portuguese tactician still managed to put on a good show after the final whistle.

As Wilder talked to the press, Mourinho charged over and gave the Blades boss a hug.

Wilder immediately said: “Class act by the way.

“His team has just got beat 3-1 and he’s had a really poor decision go against him.

“That speaks volumes for what he is about.”

But after the match, Mourinho did have a few words to say about the impact of VAR.

He said: I think I cannot say what I feel because Jamie [Redknapp] can do it, there’s no problems for him.

“I cannot because I’d be in trouble with the institutions and I want to protect myself and my club, so I cant be as open as I’d like to be.

“Now, I can only say that I’m normally a professional guy on the bench.

“In these moments, I never complain at the guy with the whistle because it’s not the referee any more.

“I used to complain, I used to go to the fourth official but the man on the pitch is the assistant referee.

“The referee in the [VAR] office.”
