Peter Crouch reveals five players he’d want with him in a fight, including Chelsea and Arsenal legends

PETER CROUCH has revealed which of his former team-mates he would want alongside him in a bar fight.

Crouch named his dream fighting five-a-side team made up of his former colleagues, including a few Premier League legends.

Writing in his Daily Mail column, Crouch was asked which players he would want by his side in a scrap.

He replied: “I’m not going to give you three. I’m going to give you the ultimate 5-a-side team.

“The first pick is Robert Huth.

“He puts his head in where it hurts, he has an unbelievably high-pain threshold and, let’s be honest, would you pick a fight with him?

“After that we’ve got John Terry…Hermann Hreidarsson, with his ferocious handshakes and headlocks, is a shoo-in.

“We’ll then take Andy Carroll – I wouldn’t want a right hook off him – and Sol Campbell.

“I’d walk into any bar in the world with those men by my side and feel very confident I could finish my drink in peace.”

Chelsea legend Terry and ex-Arsenal hard man Campbell are two of England’s toughest centre-backs in recent memory.

German Huth was another no-nonsense defender who also played for the Blues and lifted the Premier League title with Leicester in 2016.

Icelandic ace Hreidarsson made his name with Charlton but showed off his fighting qualities while sharing a dressing room with Crouch at Portsmouth in the 2008/09 season.

Newcastle striker Carroll has bullied defences for years and physicality is a big part of the former Liverpool and West Ham forward’s game.

Crouch is known for his towering height and stands at 6ft 7in so may not need to rely on his famous footballing friends for help in a public brawl.

The 39-year-old never shied away from the physical battle on the pitch and certainly could handle himself.

Despite that, he only ever received two red cards in 676 appearances in all competitions.
