ATLETICO MADRID star Marcos Llorente has further rubbed in his side’s Champions League defeat of Liverpool… by naming his DOG Anfield.
Diego Simeone’s side stunned the Champions of Europe in their own back yard 24 days ago, winning 3-2 after extra time to halt the Reds’ title defence at the round of 16 stage.

And with no subsequent games to focus on, owing to the suspension of La Liga and the Champions League, among virtually every other global sporting competition, Llorente is clearly still basking in the glory of his Merseyside triumph.
The coronavirus pandemic has left many across the world in lockdown, with the 25-year-old no exception.
But the midfielder still has his trusty pooch for companionship, taking to Instagram to share a picture of his dog to his 1.9million followers.
The image shows his pet appear to be looking outside, and is captioned in Spanish: “Day 22.
“Anfield watching life go by.”
Having signed from city rivals Real Madrid in the summer, Llorente enjoyed his crowning moment against Liverpool.
The defensive midfielder, not known for his goalscoring prowess, proved to be the hero on the night at Anfield.
Withdrawn from the bench by Simeone after 55 minutes with his side trailing 1-0, Llorente and his team-mates had to go again for extra time at the end of the 90.
Roberto Firmino then gave Jurgen Klopp’s men the lead on the night just four minutes later, before Llorente pounced.
Having scored only once in 23 Atleti appearances prior to that night, Llorente found his shooting boots to save his side’s skin big time.
His first goal came in the 97th minute, capitalising on a poor kick by goalkeeper Adrian, latching on to Joao Felix’s through ball and bending it into the bottom corner of the net.
Then, on the stroke of half-time, he struck again – cutting inside Jordan Henderson and finding the same corner following Alvaro Morata’s pass.
Morata himself sealed the job on the night, with Llorente returning the favour and laying on a perfect pass for the former Chelsea man to slot home in stoppage time of extra time.
It is unknown if Atletico, having worked so hard to overcome Liverpool and reach the quarter-finals, will get a chance to continue in this season’s competition.
The Champions League is currently suspended indefinitely because of the Covid-19 crisis.
But at least Llorente and Co will always have the memories of that night at Anfield – and will forever be reminded of it, just by taking a look at their No14’s pup.
