DAVID BECKHAM has joined the growing crop of stars who have had their heads shaved during the coronavirus lockdown.

The former England captain revealed on Instagram his new barnet.

Becks, who has always liked to cause a stir with his new haircuts, is among several football stars who have cut off their locks.

Paul Pogba, at Becks’ old club Manchester United, was among the first to start the trend.

His United team-mate Anthony Martial also followed suit during the three-week lockdown to help stop the spread of Covid-19.

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin also shaved off his flowing locks.

Real Madrid’s former Chelsea star Eden Hazard went one further by going completely bald.

And Becks has gone for a not-so-startling buzz cut.

His Instagram post got some good responses for his new look and, at the time of writing, had nearly 1.5million likes.

One user probably summed up the opinion of many when they said of the look: “Really nice”.

It is not the first time Beckham has gone for the cropped look. He had a shaved head back in 2000.

And former United boss Alex Ferguson famously made him shave off his mohawk in that same year.

David and his family are at home in the Cotswolds during the lockdown.

That means he is having to manage his new club Inter Miami from afar.

But with virtually all football postponed during the coronavirus outbreak, this has not been a problem.
