It is wide open at both the top and bottom of the table, with just two points separating the top three and three points separating 15th from 18th.

But Betfred have attempted to cut through the uncertainties by working out what they believe will be the final table.

They have taken the average points amassed by clubs across their last 10 run-ins – with Luton’s based on the average of the lowest three teams – to decipher what the table will look like come May.

It will be no surprise to fans that Manchester City are predicted to win the league for a fifth time in six seasons, beating current table toppers Liverpool by just two points.

Arsenal are tipped for third place despite their win over Liverpool at the weekend, with Tottenham six points adrift of their North London rivals in fourth.

That means Man Utd could miss out on Champions League football as they come in fifth, four points above Unai Emery’s Aston Villa – who are set to slip from fourth to sixth.

Fifth may still secure Champions League qualification dependent on England’s co-efficient come the end of the campaign – which will be impacted by Premier League teams’ performances in Europe this season.
