Man Utd reportedly splashed £330million on player wages last year.

Casemiro is supposedly on £350,000-a-week, Raphael Varane takes home £340,000 every seven days and Marcus Rashford is also among the top earners with his £325,000-a-week contract.

Ratcliffe is desperate to get the wage bill under control with finances tight at Old Trafford.

The Ineos chief plans to implement a bonus-led pay structure so only top performing players get the big bucks.

Manchester City have a similar system already in place and new United CEO Omar Berrada has been pinched from the Etihad.

He will help lead the approach when negotiating deals with players alongside potential new director of football Dan Ashworth coming in from Newcastle.

The bonus-led structure could take years to implement across the board due to existing star’s contracts.

Although Ratcliffe has plans to cut the wage bill quicker by putting several players up for sale.
