The goal gave Senegal the lead in their opening game of Afcon at the Stade Charles Konan Banny de Yamoussoukro.

Senegal will be aiming to finish top of Group C, which contains Cameroon, Guinea and Gambia.

It is Mane’s first match since he married Aisha Tamba, 18, in a ceremony in Senegal.

The game’s coverage by Sky Sports was disrupted due to a technical problem.

Mane tied the knot on January 7 in the Senegalese capital, Dakar.

The couple met through Mane’s agent, who was friends with Aisha’s dad, who is a construction boss.

They met two years ago, and Aisha’s dad, Amadou Tamba, has confirmed that she is 18 despite reports suggesting she was 19.

Mane, 31, and Aisha are said to have kept the relationship a secret before the wedding.

Mr Tamba has insisted that they did not date each other before the marriage.

Aisha has insisted that she will not be changed by the “fame and money” that will come from being Mane’s wife.

She told the Daily Mail via a relative: “I am looking forward to my new life and I know that it will be very different.

“But I do not feel any pressure because Sadio’s fame and money will not change me.

“This is not what I’m interested in. I will remain a humble person committed to my faith.

“I’m not used to having so much attention on me because we are a very private family. We don’t like to show off and speak about our personal lives.

“I am a very down to earth person, this is how I was raised, and nothing will be different just because of this marriage.

“I’m very honoured to now be Mrs Mane.”

Mane made his name in the Premier League at Southampton before a big-money move to Liverpool in 2016.

He won the Premier League and Champions League at the Anfield club.

The forward now plays for Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr and he reportedly earns £650,000 per week – a huge contrast from the life his partner is supposedly used to.

Mane and Senegal won Afcon in 2021, he will be aiming to repeat the achievement in this year’s tournament.

He is joined by the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy and Nicolas Jackson in the international squad.
