PETER CROUCH and Steve Sidwell were left wheezing by wings so spicy that they “legally had to wear protective clothing” to eat them.
The clip of the two eating the wings came from the former Premier League striker’s much loved podcast, which is co-hosted by Sidwell.
The podcast regularly sees the hosts and guests eat various dishes, with Crouch and co once even sharing a curry with Prince William.
In a collaboration with BrewDog, Crouch and Sidwell were challenged to eat a plate of wings that were “a lot spicier than usual”.
BrewDog claimed on Twitter that the hosts “legally had to wear protective clothing” to take on the task.
The two had to sign a waiver which claimed that the wings were so spicy they could cause “possible loss of life.”

The challenge saw the pair wear heavy duty rubber gloves and protective eye masks.
Crouch and Sidwell ate three dishes of progressively hotter wings with Crouch already saying “I can’t go much more than that” after trying ones named “pretty spicy”.
The second hottest, labelled “mega spicy” saw Crouch glug a pint of milk and declare “my tongue’s gone”.
Sidwell dealt with the spice a little better but still declared: “Not being funny but that’s really really hot.” which saw the production team break into laughter.

The spiciest wings left both of them hoarse and struggling to speak, with Crouch saying “everything’s gone” including his “throat and whole mouth”.
By the end of the challenge, Crouch could hardly talk but still managed to reel off a little promo for Brewdog.
Through the tears induced from the spice, Crouch said: “Well thanks guys, get yourselves down for Wing Wednesdays” before breaking into laughter.
Crouch played 468 games in the Premier League and is remembered for his spells at Liverpool, Spurs and Stoke – scoring 109 goals over the course of his career.
Sidwell made 200 appearances in the Premier League where he shone at Reading, before getting a move to Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea – where he was famously given the club’s number nine shirt despite being a midfielder.
