Man Utd star Amad Diallo sends cheeky response to club’s official X account after award snub

MANCHESTER UNITED star Amad Diallo hilariously hit back after missing out on the club’s Player of the Month award.

The 22-year-old has been one of their standout performers in November.

Amad scored both in the 2-0 win over Paok and got an assist in the 3-0 victory against Leicester, which was Ruud van Nistelrooy’s final game in charge.

The Ivorian has continued his fine form in a new role as a wing-back since the arrival of Ruben Amorim, setting up Marcus Rashford’s strike against Ipswich for the first goal of the new manager’s era.

Amad, whose current deal expires in the summer, also shone as he provided two assists in Amorim’s 4-0 win over Everton on Sunday.

But he was snubbed as United’s November Player of the Month in favour of Noussair Mazraoui.

Amad then brilliantly responded to the post on X confirming that the defender was the winner.

He wrote no words and simply replied with a short clip of a referee heading to a VAR screen, jokingly suggesting he wants a review of the votes.

His reaction has since gone viral, with the post receiving 46,000 likes and counting.

Fans found it hilarious, with one saying: “The vibes are back.”

Mazraoui is fully deserving of his award after playing 90 minutes in all four November games.

His versatility has also proved vital, having featured at left-back against Leicester, right-back versus Paok and centre-back in the clashes with Ipswich and Bodo/Glimt.

Fans were full of praise for him, with one writing: “Never had a bad game since joining Man Utd! Well deserved Mazraoui.”

Another added: “Our signing of the season.”

Mazraoui refused to wear a pro-LGBTQ+ jacket ahead of United’s 4-0 win over Everton.

According to The Athletic, the Red Devils decided not to wear the walk-out jacket because Mazraoui, 27, told his team-mates he was not prepared to wear the outfit, citing his Muslim faith as the reason.

United have worn a pride-themed jersey to warm up ahead of games and a jacket of a similar concept when walking out for a match over the last two seasons during the Rainbow Laces period.

Man Utd issued the following statement: “Manchester United welcomes fans from all backgrounds, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, and we are strongly committed to the principles of diversity and inclusion.

“We demonstrate these principles through a range of activities, including support for our Rainbow Devils supporters’ club, and campaigns to celebrate our LGBTQ+ fans and combat all forms of discrimination.

“Players are entitled to hold their own individual opinions, particularly in relation to their faith, and these may sometimes differ from the club’s position.”

Man Utd ratings vs Everton as Zirkzee answers his critics in style… but one midfielder struggles

RUBEN AMORIM celebrated his first Premier League game at Old Trafford with a stunning 4-0 victory over Everton.

Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee shook off questions over their recent form with two each at a thrilled Old Trafford – as the Red Devils won a Prem game by four goals or more since the opening day of the 2021-22 season.

Here’s how SunSport’s Ken Lawrence rated the Red Devils…

ANDRE ONANA – 6

Called into action early and showed growing his growing composure as No 1.

NOUSSAIR MAZROUI – 6

Has rapidly become one of the United faithful’s favourites doing himself no harm again.

MATTHIJS DE LIGT – 6

Stretched at first by bustling Beto but beginning to look like he’s settling down in a back three.

LISANDRO MARTINEZ – 6

Once again looking like the master and commander of the United rearguard.

AMAD DIALLO – 8

Went from wasteful to the plundering terror of centre backs Branthwaite and Tarkowski.

KOBBIE MAINOO – 6

Quiet, calm, controlled, no panic, no loss of possession, no problem for the midfielder.

CASEMIRO – 5

Looked like his lack of pace might be a problem again in central midfield but ground it out.

DIOGO DALOT – 6

Enjoying life in his new left-side forward role and didn’t really put a foot wrong.

JOSHUA ZIRKZEE – 8

Transformed himself from headless chicken to tripling his whole United tally with two clinical strikes.

MARCUS RASHFORD – 9

Ruben Amorim has gone out of his way to big up the front man and he’s responding in style.

BRUNO FERNANDES – 6

Wasteful for a while but got his head down to have a real influence by the end.

SUBS

LUKE SHAW (Mazraoui 56) – 5

Comfortably easing himself back.

HARRY MAGUIRE (de Ligt 56) – 5

Looked happy to be out there.

ALEJANDRO GARNACHO (Fernandes 66) – 5

Got bustling off the bench.

MANUEL UGARTE (Casemiro 66) – 5

Will be wanting more minutes than this.

MASON MOUNT (Mainoo 80) – 5

Sharp and up for it.
