A FOOTBALL fan in Brazil had a disastrous moment as he drove his car down a stairwell when trying to leave a stadium.
The Cruzeiro supporter may have got a little carried away after watching his side score a last-minute winner to beat Botafogo 3-2.
Because instead of driving down a ramp to exit the Mineirao, he instead turned onto a staircase.
The driver said he saw a sign indicating the exit so made the turn, but quickly became stuck on the narrow staircase.
He and his wife and son were uninjured as the fire department was called to deal with the situation.
Firefighters tied a rope to the back of the car and removed the vehicle using a rubber cushion which was inflated with air.

It took around 90 minutes to solve the issue and the car was eventually returned to its owner.
The driver said he does not attend the stadium very often – the fixture was Cruzeiro’s first game of the Brazilian Serie A season.
They had to come from behind to pick up three points and benefitted from a 72nd-minute red card for Botafogo star Alexander Barboza.
Lucas Silva equalised for the hosts before Rafael da Silva added a second for Cruizero.

That goal was cancelled out seven minutes from time by 10-man Botafogo, but Rafael Elias struck in added time to secure victory for Cruzeiro.
However the game could have played out very differently if Botafogo’s Jeffinho had not fired wide in front of an empty net after rounding goalkeeper Anderson.
