DAZN currently hold the rights to show the Women’s Champions League alongside the top tiers in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Saudi Arabia.

All competitions will be available for those at home to tune into until the season ends.

The British streaming platform announced the change in a statement on their website.

The statement claimed the change will “drive audience growth and provide a new global home for women’s football”.

As well as explaining that fans will be offered “greater access to games, content and the international women’s football community”.

All in all there will be 209 games streamed for free in the UK as a result of the change – 29 of which will be from the UWCL.

Uefa and DAZN agreed a four-year exclusive deal for the broadcasting rights to the competition alongside YouTube back in 2021.

The deal saw the first two seasons of the competition being shown for free before plans to put the majority of the fixtures behind a paywall.

But DAZN’s new announcement has binned that plan and instead made the games available for all fans for longer.

Last season’s Champions League coverage pulled in a whopping 55.2million viewers on the DAZN women’s football Youtube channel.

While the final of the competition attracted 5.1million live viewers alone when Barcelona toppled Wolfsburg in a 3-2 thriller.

Other sports shown on DAZN will remain behind a paywall with the service best known for its coverage of boxing.
