Hungarian Grand Prix fears as pit lane FLOODED less than 48 hours before first qualifying session


HUNGARIAN GRAND PRIX preparations have been hit with a massive blow as the pit lane is flooded.

The first practice is scheduled to take place this Friday at 12:30pm BST but the weather has cast some doubt on the current timetable.

Some shocking images have shown the pit lane covered in water due to rainfall just 48 hours before the event kicks off at the Hungaroring near Budapest.

Formula One fans were left in utter shock as they stormed social media.

One fan tweeted: “Powerboat racing here we come!”

Another commented: “Isn’t this week supposed to be a hot asf week?”

A third one wrote: “Is that from this week?”

This fan said: “So is the race happening?”

And that one stated: “I hope it will dry up just in time before the race!”

However, the weather forecast has left plenty of promise ahead of the event.

It’s expected to be a hot weekend in Hungary, therefore the water could evaporate.

On Friday, F1 enthusiasts can expect sunny intervals and a gentle breeze with a high of 33C.

Saturday and Sunday are expected to be even sunnier with the temperature reaching 34C on race day.
