Mike Tyson selling edibles shaped like bitten ears in New York in promo push before Jake Paul fight


MIKE TYSON is flogging edibles shaped like bitten ears – a nod to his infamous bite on Evander Holyfield – in New York weed shops.

Iron Mike, 57, has entered the marijuana industry since hanging up his gloves.

Tyson has a huge 40-acre cannabis ranch in California and is said to make £500,000 a month from his dope empire.

Marijuana for recreational purposes was legalised in New York State in 2021.

Former heavyweight champ Tyson has since got his Mike Bites product stocked in stores in Greenwich Village, Brooklyn, Syracuse and Farmingdale.

And ahead of his summer bout with Jake Paul, natove New Yorker Tyson is set for a huge promotional push.

According to the New York Post, Iron Mike is set to hold a promotional event in Times Square next month.

A statement from Tyson read: “Growing up in Brooklyn, I could have never imagined a time when cannabis would be legally utilised to enhance both mental and physical well-being.

“Yet, here we are, witnessing the incredible progress.

“New York, we still have improvements to make in expanding access to this plant-based wellness, but together, I’m confident we will forge a new standard of excellence, prioritising safety, quality and taste to ensure unparalleled experiences.”

Tyson infamously bit Holyfield’s ear during their rematch for the WBC heavyweight title in 1997.

Mike Bites, in homage to the incident, can be bought in a variety of different flavours including watermelon black eye berry and sour apple punch.

Tyson’s return to the ring against Paul, 20 years his junior, is set to take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

It is not yet clear whether the bout will be an exhibition or professional encounter.

UFC president Dana White recently revealed that he has spoken to Tyson’s wife Lakiha “Kiki” Spicer about the fight.

He told podcaster Lex Fridman: “I love Mike Tyson and I’m not a fan of anybody fighting at our age, but he’s a grown man obviously and he’s going to do what he’s going to do.

“I talked to his wife a couple of days ago and he’s taking it serious and he’s training for it.

“I think Mike Tyson is one of the most unique guys who have crossed over, any of the other fighters from his generation have no way of making money without fighting and Mike Tyson has made a lot of money outside of fighting.

“Tyson still has that aura that you could be in a restaurant, you’d be like ‘Holy f***, Mike Tyson is here.’

“He still has that aura and energy in a room, he makes lots of money outside of the ring but I think he ends up getting these offers that he can’t refuse.”
