THE world’s oldest competitive boxer has called John Fury out for a fight.
Steve Ward, 67, says he has had enough of Fury’s “rubbish talk” and has urged the pair to fix a date.
Fury will turn 60 next month and is a former professional heavyweight.
He has gained a level of infamy in his retirement due to his outbursts before fights involving his sons Tyson, Tommy and Roman.
He most recently came close to a physical altercation with YouTuber and boxer KSI, ahead of his fight with Tommy Fury.
John had to be restrained after trying to kick and headbutt his way through a glass wall that separated him from his son’s opponent.
Ward claims he has heard rumours that John said he could beat him from people in the street.
That’s despite Ward holding the record for the oldest boxer to have a competitive fight.
Ward last fought three years ago when he did battle with Jimmy Lloyd at the age of 64.
He has since retired from boxing but has said he would make a return to tussle with John Fury.

He told talkSPORT: “I have had people come up to me in Nottingham, Chesterfield, Mansfield. Probably a couple of others.
“Now if this is all as I say, rubbish talk, c*** talk. Fair enough. But they tell me that, ‘John Fury says that he’d beat you, John Fury says you’re an old man.’
“They tell me, ‘John Fury says you shouldn’t be a world champ’, and all this. I’m taking a lot.
“Now, if it is just them who recognise me walking around because people do, they recognise you, then I apologise to John Fury. I’m sorry.
“But if it is him who is saying this, I’d rather not talk about it, and let’s get something done about it because I’m not a talker but I am a fighter.
Let’s get something on. I’m a fighter, a thoroughbred one.

“Either way, it’s there. So he will either send me an apology if he hears this, and it’s just people coming to me, I don’t know him.
“If it’s people just spouting off, fair enough, I apologise for saying what I’ve just said.
“But if it is him, don’t talk about it. Let’s get something on. I’m a fighter, a thoroughbred one.”
