WORLD CUP legend Diego Lugano looked unrecognisable as he clebrated Sao Paulo’s derby victory over Corinthians disguised as a fan.
The Uruguay legend, 42, blended in with fans who were setting off flares by wearing a red Sao Paulo beanie and black sunglasses.
Sao Paulo were playing Corinthians in the home fixture of their two-legged semi-final of the Copa Do Brasil and needed to overturn a 2-1 deficit from their away fixture.
They managed to do so by winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Wellington Rato and former Spurs star Lucas Moura – sending their fans into rapture.
Lugano is a legend at the club having played for them between 2003 and 2006 – where he won the Campeanato Paulista, the Copa Libertadores and the Club World Cup.
Fans will know him from his time as captain of Uruguay – where he led his side to a surprise 4th place finish at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

In 2016 he would return to Sao Paulo as a player before moving into the club’s boardroom.
From 2018 to 2020 he was the sporting director at the club but is evidently now just enjoying his time as a Sao Paulo fan.
Lugano is known for his signature long flowing blonde locks from his playing career but these were well hidden by his beanie.
In the video, which shows Lugano going undercover, he is seen moving without recognition by fans as they geared up for the derby – lining the streets of Sao Paulo.

He is also seen sitting in the regular stands at the match among fans, as he celebrated Lucas Moura’s winner on the night.
Premier League fans might also recognise Lugano from his underwhelming one year spell at West Brom.
The Uruguayan signed for The Baggies from PSG in 2013 on a two year contract but was released the following year after making only seven league appearances.
The cancellation of Lugano’s contract led to a legal dispute between him and the club which was settled after three and a half years.
Sao Paulo will play Flamengo in the final of the Copa Do Brasil over two legs in September.
