MANCHESTER UNITED have lost MORE times under Erik ten Hag this season than they ever did with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as boss, it has been revealed.
In the Premier League alone United have suffered nine defeats in the Dutchman’s debut campaign.
And, as ex-Liverpool star Jose Enrique gleefully pointed out on Twitter, that is more than in both of Solskjaer’s full seasons in charge.
The club legend’s first season in 2019/20 saw United lose eight games in the league, before recording just six the following season with third and second-placed finishes respectively.
However, after a dismal start to the 2021/22 campaign which saw United lose five times from 12 matches under his guidance, the Norwegian saw his time as manager come to an end.
Solskjaer was, however, unable to secure a trophy as Old Trafford boss, losing the Europa League final in 2021.

While Ten Hag has already managed to win the Carabao Cup and could end the season with two trophies with the FA Cup final still to come.
However, upon seeing these figures, some United fans seem keen to write the former Ajax boss off already.
One fan wrote: “Ten Hag is a worse Solskjaer with no hair.”
A second remarked: “Ole Gunnar Solskjaer I owe you an apology. You were never this bad. I am officially Ten Hag out from now on.”

A third joked: “Ten Hag is starting to give me Solskjaer flashbacks.”

“Ten Hag not up to it, Solskjaer has a better record,” commented a fourth.
A fifth said: “The only difference between Ole Gunnar Solskjær & Erik Ten Hag is Casemiro. There is nothing you can tell me [otherwise].”
A sixth added: “Erik Ten Hag is a fraud, the Carabao Cup is the only difference between him and Ole Gunnar Solskjær.”
While another – seemingly a Cristiano Ronaldo fan – declared: “Ten Hag ended CR7’s career along with his own. Is Ten Hag doing any better a job than Solskjaer?”
Ten Hag’s ninth loss of the Prem campaign, Sunday’s abject reversal against West Ham, has fans fearing an end-of-season wobble that could cost them a spot in next season’s Champions League.
Despite a promising start to the season, they now sit just one point ahead of bitter rivals Liverpool, who walloped them 7-0 at Anfield in March.
It should be noted that across the two seasons Solskjaer had in charge, he scored a win rate of 51.31 per cent as opposed to Ten Hag who has a win rate of 55 per cent so far this season.
After the fiasco of last season, it has been a season of transition for United with Ten Hag trying to re-establish the club’s core principles.
But SunSport’s Dave Kidd believes this shows how big of a mess the club has been in since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013.
