REAL MADRID are reportedly set to choose whether to launch a blockbuster move for Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland to rebuild their team.
Los Blancos have been linked with both superstars during the past but have so far failed to land either man.
They thought that French World Cup-winning forward Mbappe, 24, was heading to the Bernabeu last summer until he famously snubbed them to pen a new mega-contract at Paris Saint-Germain.
However, L’Equipe claims that his deal with PSG will end in June 2024 and he is unlikely to trigger the option of a 12-month extension.
And the possibility of signing him on a free transfer as a replacement for veteran Karim Benzema should entice them to make a renewed effort to land him.
But the French outlet also claims that Madrid are keeping tabs on Manchester City goal machine Haaland too.

The Norwegian international left Dortmund for the Etihad last summer and he has scored 52 goals in an incredible debut campaign in England.
The 22-year-old has already celebrated winning the Premier League title and now hopes to fire City to FA Cup and Champions League glory to seal an historic treble.
Benzema, 35, is expected to pen a new one-year contract with Madrid over the coming weeks.
But this report states that he will be allowed to leave at the end of the 2023/24 season to pave the way for a new superstar signing.

And it seems that Mbappe or Haaland are the two men identified by the LaLiga giants to lead them into a new era.
Although, the £650,000-per-week Mbappe will reportedly have to take a significant pay cut to move to the Spanish capital.
The former Monaco ace looks set to add another Ligue 1 title to his collection with PSG poised to retain their crown if they beat Strasbourg on Saturday.
