My dad’s a former Premier League manager – now I’m making my own way as a TV presenter covering football

AS the old saying goes, the apple does not fall far from the tree.

It is something which seems to be particularly apparent in sport, with the latest example of this coming out of Germany with the daughter of former Premier League manager David Wagner.

The former Huddersfield and current Norwich boss has been followed into the football industry by daughter Lea.

However, Lea stands on the other side of the microphone to where Wagner would be.

Lea, 29, is a TV presenter for German channel Sportschau.

She studied cross media editing at Stuttgart Media University, graduating in 2016.

And she has already gone on to cover a number of thrilling sporting events.

At the age of 23 she presented her first live broadcast.

Her exploits saw her become the youngest presenter in the history of the traditional sports program “Sport im Third” (today “SWR Sport”).

She has also covered World Cups and European Championships.

However, football is not her only field, with the Olympics among her list of events covered.

She has also worked for broadcasters ARD and is the face of the broadcaster’s ski jumping coverage.

It’s no surprise that Lea already has 101,000 followers on Instagram.
