Former Manchester City star Richards has established himself as one of the most popular ex-pros on TV.

His easy-going demeanour and infectious laugh has seen Richards become a staple on several shows.

But he brought even more tears to eyes by wearing a bold yellow suit on Sky Sports.

The ex-England star was joined by Jamie Redknapp as he gave his thoughts on Man City’s win over Leeds, and later Liverpool’s triumph against Brentford.

Yet it was his garish outfit that drew the most attention.

Richards did explain there was a reason behind the garb though — namely that he had WON a bet while filming for TV show A League Of Their Own.

Richards said: “So basically I won the bet on A League Of Their Own. We went to south east Asia.

“And whoever won had to wear this ridiculous that Jamie has designed. How am I looking?”

Pal Redknapp answered: “I’m very proud, I love the brown trousers, I like the mushrooms on the waistcoat.

“It’s beautifully made, Georgio Redknappio. I think you look… honestly, I’m very proud of my work.”

Host Kelly Cates added: “I do like that when you’re designing a bad taste outfit, all the colours tone in.”

Richards then asked: “Am I pulling it off then?”

Cates hilariously answered: “I wouldn’t say that.”

Fans were certainly tickled by Richards’ outfit, with one saying: “Fair play, came through on his bet.”

Another laughed: “Not bad at all.”

One added: “This would look good on my chefs for my restaurant.”
