United are fighting for two more trophies, having won the Carabao Cup already, and want to guarantee a place in the Premier League top four.

Top scorer Rashford has been enjoying the best goalscoring season of his career, having found the net 28 times so far.

But there are fears he could be out for a number of weeks after he limped out of Saturday’s win over Everton with a groin injury.

Rashford and the rest of the players and coaching staff have been given two days off following three games in the last week.

The good news from the weekend for Ten Hag was the return to action of midfielder Christian Eriksen.

Meanwhile, Anthony Martial got back on the score sheet in his third substitute’s appearance after being out with a hip injury.

Casemiro has also now served his four match suspension.

The Red Devils are facing four key games in 11 days from Thursday when they take on Sevilla in their Europa League quarter-final first leg.

They then travel to Nottingham Forest on Sunday before the return leg against Sevilla on Thursday of next week followed by their FA Cup semi-final against Brighton at Wembley just three days later.
