Marcus Rashford cleans up at Man Utd Player of the Year awards as stars and glamorous Wags dress up for red-carpet event


MANCHESTER UNITED stars were out in force as they attended the club’s end-of-season awards.

The Red Devils secured a third-place finish in Premier League after their 2-1 win over Fulham and are still in with a chance to land a second trophy with the upcoming FA Cup final.

But before that, Erik ten Hag’s squad took time to soak in their achievements so far.

The red carpet event did not disappoint as United stars looked sharp in black suits.

A number of stars were seen in attendance alongside their stunning Wag’s, including David De Gea, Harry Maguire and Christian Eriksen to name but a few.

However, the coaches were not to be outdone, with Ten Hag joined by attacking coach Benni McCarthy and goalkeeping coach Craig Mawson.

Marcus Rashford cleaned house in the ceremony, winning the Players’ Player of the Year and Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year awards.

The 25-year-old’s 30 goals and 11 assists were pivotal in seeing United claim a spot in the top four, as well as deep runs across all three cup competitions.

Earlier this week, boss Ten Hag revealed he expected Rashford to sign a new deal soon, with the forward’s current deal expiring in 2024.

He told Viaplay: “I expect Marcus Rashford to renew.

“He wants it. Manchester United wants it. He is a child of this club, so I assume this will happen.”

Elsewhere, Antony’s winner against Barcelona was voted as the club’s Goal of the Season.

Alessia Russo picked up the equivalent award for United’s Women for her stoppage-time header against Arsenal at the Emirates, while also picking up the Fans’ Player of the Year.

Hannah Blundell won the Players’ Player of the Year, while United also handed out the Inaugral Ian Stirling Fan Award in memory of lifelong supporter Ian Stirling who died aged 57 earlier this year.

The award will be a mainstay going forward to recognise a fan who has gone above and beyond for the club and community.
