LIONEL MESSI’S former manager Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino is in talks to take over at Inter Miami, according to reports.
It comes as Messi confirmed he would be joining the MLS outfit on a free transfer this summer.
Messi, 35, had been in talks with Barcelona and Saudi Arabia before agreeing a blockbuster deal with David Beckham’s Inter Miami.
And the superstar could be joined in the sunshine state by Martino, according to journalist Ariel Senosiain.
Messi is a big fan of Martino, with the pair linking up previously at Barcelona and Argentina.
They are even from the same Argentine town, Rosario, and Messi would likely be keen for the 60-year-old to join him in Miami.

Martino narrowly missed out on winning LaLiga in his one and only season at Barca in 2013-14.
He and Messi also went close to a trophy with Argentina in 2016 when they lost the Copa America final to Chile on penalties.
Nevertheless, Messi still holds his ex-boss in high regard and could be excited to work with him once again.
