I’m an ex-footballer and asked for a new home every year as part of my contract – my club gave me LEGO houses instead

RULE one of contracts: Make sure everything is crystal clear.

Giuseppe Reina found that out the hard way during his playing days.

The ex-Borussia Dortmund striker won a Bundesliga title during his career.

Reina helped BVB secure the 2001-02 crown – beating Bayer Leverkusen to the title by a single point, with Bayern Munich a further point back in an ultra-tight title race.

But before that, he was hilariously trolled by his OWN club.

After making a name for himself at SG Wattenscheid 09, he bagged a move to Arminia Bielefeld in 1996.

Wattenscheid finished dead last of the Bundesliga 2 in 1995-96, while his new club achieved promotion to the top-flight.

Arminia Bielefeld decided to rescue Reina from what would have been a season in the third tier.

But Reina had a bizarre request upon moving to the Bundesliga side.

As part of his contract, the forward demanded the club build him a new HOUSE for every year he was at the club.

Incredibly, team bosses accepted the outrageous – albeit novel – demands.

However, there was a twist.

Reina had never made it clear what size or type of house he was demanding… he didn’t ask for a sprawling Tuscan villa or even a dingy two-up, two-down.

So, after the first season, the club presented Reina with his brand new house… made out of LEGO.

Despite the incredible piece of trolling, Reina stayed at the club for three years.

He sued the club for “breach of contract” and the two parties settled out of court.

It’s believed he accepted the cash pay-off… and never became a real estate tycoon.
