MANCHESTER UNITED have a number of forgotten stars from the Class of 92.
The likes of David Beckham, Gary Neville and Paul Scholes reached stardom, while others fell by the wayside.
And one man who was tipped to reach the top had his career curtailed by injury – Ben Thornley.
But the winger did enjoy the high life early on in his career, and even posed with Becks in an advertising photoshoot in the early 90s.
He made his Red Devils debut in the 1993-94 season and big things were expected of Thornley, who was supposedly highly regarded by Sir Alex Ferguson.
But he suffered a devastating injury to his knee in a reserve match against Blackburn, damaging his ligament.

The setback limited him to just nine United appearances before joining Huddersfield, initially on loan and then permanently in 1998.
A move to Aberdeen followed in 2001 where Thornley revealed he would regularly go out drinking with team-mates.
On one occasion he was involved in a threesome with a Dons pal, which he described as “surreal”.
Telling the story in his Autobiography‘Tackled’, Thornley wrote: “There was one weekday night when I went out drinking.

“I rang one of my team-mates to see if he fancied it and he did, so we ended up going to one of our local haunts that was always busy on a Wednesday night.
“This one girl in there spent most of the evening with us – and me and my fellow player sensed an opportunity.
“We had a threesome. It was incredibly surreal.
“It was the first and only time I’ve been with a girl and had another guy’s c*** in my face and to be perfectly honest, it’s not a spectator sport.
“In fact it was that funny – and she was laughing too – that in the end my team-mate said, ‘Listen, I’m going to have to go’.
“I said, ‘Fine, no problem’. Then I gave her a proper seeing-to.
“Hey, this is a book about a footballer – a bit of debauchery is to be expected.”
