RALPH HASENHUTTL is Hoffenheim’s top target to become their next manager.
The Austrian has been out of a job since he was sacked by Southampton after four years in early-November.
He led them to an 11th place finish in first full campaign in charge, but paid the price with Saints inside the relegation zone.
But he could make a swift return to the dugout which would also see him back to Germany.
Hasenhuttl managed RB Leipzig prior to taking the Southampton job.
And now Florian Plettenberg claims that he’s Hoffenheim’s No.1 target after they sacked Andre Breitenreiter following their 5-2 weekend defeat.

The strugglers are currently 14th in the Bundesliga and were embarrassed by VfL Bochum on Saturday.
The German club have only managed five league wins all season and have collected just TWO points from possible 27.
Meanwhile, Hasenhuttl’s predecessor at Southampton, Nathan Jones, is already losing faith in his squad.
Jones is set to remain at St Mary’s, but his own position was discussed by the Saints board over the weekend following his comments after the Brentford defeat.

And SunSport revealed that Southampton’s players were already unimpressed with Jones even before his extraordinary statements after the 3-0 defeat.
Jones has lost six of seven games in charge with Saints bottom of the Premier League.
