ERLING HAALAND and Mohamed Salah would be most people’s pick for the best players in the Premier League.
But Janusz Michallik doesn’t think either of them make the top three and fans have been left fuming at the ex-pro’s list of top five Premier League players this term.
Michallik, who spent most of his career playing in the US, was speaking with ESPN FC when he was asked to name who he thinks the league’s top five best players are so far this season.
And he’s thrown up a few surprises with the order of his ranking and a couple of players that are missing from his list.
According to the 44-cap USA defender, Salah is the Premier League’s fifth best player with Haaland just in front of him in fourth spot.
Beating the pair to third place is Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, while his North London neighbour Son Heung-Min is Michallik’s choice for the second best player in the league.

And his number one spot is reserved for Man City’s star midfielder Rodri, who is currently suspended for a red card, but got off to an electric start for the treble winners this season.
Although fans would largely agree that all these players are superb in their own right, they are not very happy with the order and have highlighted some notable omissions.
Many took to the comments section to lambast Michallik’s choices and let him know what order they thought it should have been in.
One fan wrote: “Criminal that Bissouma isn’t on this.”

And another felt that Bukayo Saka’s six goal contributions in seven games this season should’ve earned him a spot, adding: “Saka should be in!”
A third joked: “Okay, you are drunk with this top five.”
While a fourth chimed in saying: “Maddison has been the best… It is not even close.”
James Maddison has been on fire since signing for Spurs and has thrived under the watch of Ange Postecoglou.
The Englishman has bagged twice and registered four assists in the league so far this term.
Other fans were left flummoxed at Haaland being in fourth place despite leading the scoring charts once again with eight goals this season.
