JOLEON LESCOTT has left his job coaching England Under-21s in order to pursue his dream career.
Lescott was part of Lee Carsley’s coaching staff as the U21s won the Euros after beating Spain 1-0 in the final.
The ex-Manchester City, Everton and Wolves centre-back was a consultant coach for the Georgia tournament.
But the 41-year-old has now left his position there in order to chase his dream of becoming a director of football.
Head coach Carsley and assistant Ashley Cole, however, will remain in their posts until the Three Lions’ title defence in 2025 – a campaign beginning with a qualifier against Luxembourg next month.
Despite pursuing the new role, Lescott will retain his position at Man City in both ambassadorial and media roles, according to the Daily Mail.

Lescott also works as a pundit for TNT Sports.
While he now looks set to pursue a career in the boardroom, Lescott also has a Uefa A Diploma.
During a 17-year playing career, Lescott won five trophies.
Four of these were at Man City – for whom he played in 160 games – including two Premier League titles.

The other came during his time at Wolves when they won the Championship play-off final in 2003.
He also earned 26 caps for England.
Lescott would not be the first to make the leap between pitch and boardroom.
Ex-pros such as Edwin van der Sar and Paolo Maldini are high profile players who have made a successful switch, winning titles with Ajax and AC Milan respectively.
