Speaking to BT Sport, Ten Hag bemoaned the club’s “crazy” schedule, lambasting the workload his players are under.

He said: “We have the most crazy schedule of all the Premier League teams, we have three games to cover in six days, which is not right, but we have to deal with it.

United are set to face Brighton in the FA Cup semi-final later this month.

They will also have a tie against Europa League specialists Sevilla to contend with, all while trying to maintain their position in the Premier League’s top four.

He added: “We couldn’t expect to be in this situation when we started. We are in the top four.

“We are in the quarter-finals of the Europa League. We are in the semi-finals of the FA Cup. We already have a trophy.”

Man Utd ended a three-game league run without a goal after Marcus Rashford smashed home a winner against Brentford at Old Trafford in midweek.

And they managed to grab two more against Sean Dyche’s Everton.

Man Utd beat Everton 2-0 thanks to goals from Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial.

It is the Toffee’s first defeat since a 4-0 drubbing by Arsenal on March 1.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tyrell Malacia have also came into the team, with the latter replacing the injured Luke Shaw.

Jadon Sancho kept his place and registered an assist ahead of gargantuan striker Wout Weghorst, who was given a cameo towards the end as he replaced the injured Rashford.

Ten Hag praised the impact of Sancho after the win at Brentford, while Marcel Sabitzer also excelled in a new role against the Bees.
