Chelsea star Thiago Silva loses it after finding out EA FC 24 rating and claims game-makers ‘aren’t watching football’

CHELSEA defender Thiago Silva took a cheeky dig at EA Sports FC 24 after finding out his new in-game rating.

The 38-year-old joked that developers were watching football “with their eyes closed” after finding out that his rating had reduced from 86 to 84 ahead of the new release.

He told the official Premier League YouTube channel: “They’re not watching football, they’re watching the games like this [with their eyes closed].”

When asked about his attributes, he added: “I think that obviously offensively I can improve because I didn’t get a single goal last year.

“This year I think I can improve my attacking because defensively I’m good.”

EA Sports FC, the successor to the much-loved FIFA game series, is set to be released at the end of this month.

Player ratings have already started to be revealed, with Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne ranking as the highest-rated Premier League stars, both with 91.

Chelsea’s top-rated player is Christopher Nkunku, with Silva and Reece James both second with a rating of 84.

The Blues finished 12th in the Premier League last season, which has led to a significant drop in EA ratings for most players.

Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell and club-record signing Moises Caicedo are the only other Chelsea players to achieve a rating above 80.
