Pochettino and Kane enjoyed success together at Spurs, but he’s now embarked on a new journey in the dugout at Chelsea this season.

The 51-year-old has a big job on his hands, tasked with turning around a team who finished 12th in the Premier League last term.

But when speaking in a recent interview with The Athletic, Pochettino took the opportunity to poke fun at the England captain.

In a hilarious move, the Blues boss pulled out his phone and told Shearer that he wanted to record a quick video message for Kane.

The Argentine looked into the camera saying: “Harry, we have signed Alan and he is going to score more goals, sorry”.

By the end of the interview, Kane had clearly seen the funny side, as he responded: “He’d still score more goals for you”.

Of course, Pochettino was referencing that Shearer’s goalscoring record is now safe with Kane moving to Bayern Munich.

The Newcastle and England legend, 52, is the all-time Premier League top scorer with 260 goals in 441 appearances.

Kane was hot on his heels and closing in fast after reaching 213 in 320 appearances with Spurs.

But following his £100m move to Bayern, many believe that he may never get the chance to close that 47-goal gap and surpass Shearer’s tally.

Kane enjoyed a scoring start on his Bundesliga debut last week for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Before leaving Spurs this summer, Kane ominously hinted that he still had plenty of time left to snatch the record from the Match of the Day pundit.

It was reported that Chelsea could reunite Pochettino with Kane, but Daniel Levy was not interested in selling his frontman to a Premier League rival.
