Danis appeared to attempt an MMA-style takedown on Paul just as the bell was about to go, sparking a mass brawl between both fighters security detail.

After Paul was announced as the winner – with Danis already escorted out of the ring – Paul then called out WWE star Mysterio.

He said: “I want that US title. Rey Mysterio, I already beat you once brother and I’m coming for that US Championship. Let’s go!”

Paul teamed up with The Miz for his WWE debut in 2022 to face father-son duo Rey and Dominik Mysterio.

And this left eager fans licking their lips at anticipation.

One said: “That match is already 1000 times better than this fight even without taking place.”

A second wrote: “Definitely going to be interesting to see.”

While a third joked: “Guarantee you Rey Mysterio will land more offence in one minute than Danis did in six rounds.”
