  • Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr.

Credit where it is due, Zak Chelli put in a good performance over the course of the 10 rounds.

Sims looked a passenger for too much of the fight but in the 8th round at least, he attacked.

Chelli still had to be wary of a potential for getting caught by one but he didn’t treat it like a street brawl to get it done.

He will gain a lot from that fight.

  • Zak Chelli wins by unanimous decision

  • Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 10)

Chelli has outboxed Sims in this fight.

He’s been more eager for the win.

Some big body shots in this round followed up with a right that rocks Sims.

He has to hold onto Chelli to stay up.

The round ends, solid finish by Chelli.

  • Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 9)

Chelli looks like his corner have had a word with him in the break there.

He comes out of the corner and goes for Sims from the off.

Landing a series of punches on the head of Sims he rocks him onto the ropes.

    Chelli definitely taking that round.

  • Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 8)

Sims comes out of the traps for the first time.

He starts the round at a high tempo and goes for Chelli.

Think his corner have had some honest words with him.

Chelli ends up on the canvas but nothing to do with a punch as Sims throws him to the ground.

He seems to know he needs to come out of his shell to get a win here.

  • Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 7)

Chelli seems to be able to hold Sims at bay too much.

He is only landing a few shots in the round but Sims is not attacking at all.

Maybe he is conserving his energy.

  • Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 6)

Chelli takes another round on the scorecard.

Sims is struggling to land anything that is likely to do any damage at all.

His defence is getting weaker by the round.

It won’t be long before Chelli gets a telling blow through.

  • Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 5)

Chelli manages to land some big hits in that round.

Particularly a big right hand that rocked Sims’ head.

After that, he started to be able to get his jabs through Sims’ guard.

  • Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 4)

Chelli has a much better round there.

Landing his jab and following it up with looping right hands.

Didn’t land any telling ones but the intent was there.

  • Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 3)

Sims starts to look a bit more aggressive.

He is trying to get in close to Chelli and when he does he fires off some combinations looking to hurt his opponent.

Chelli seems to focussing on the body.

He is throwing haymakers that aren’t connecting.

  • Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 2)

Both boxers seem to be a bit cagey in this one.

Body shots are being landed but that is about it.

In all fairness, they both seem to be defending the face well.

  • Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr. (Round 1)

Both boxers go through the motions in the first round.

Exchanging jabs, testing each other’s defence.

Hopefully this one will warm up a bit.

  • Next fight up…..

It is time for the co-main event.

    For the super-middleweight championship.

Zak Chelli vs. Anthony Sims Jr.

Scheduled as a ten round fight.

  • Viddal Riley vs. Anees Taj

Well, the doctor did the right thing there to stop that.

Taj’s eye looked like a shark bite.

That would have opened up to the point where we could see skull.

    Solid win for Viddal Riley.

  • Fight over, Viddal Riley wins

  • Referee calls doctor to the ring

  • Viddal Riley vs. Anees Taj (Round 3)

Both boxers exchange blows but Riley manages to cut Taj’s eye open.

Viddal Riley starts to work the cut as blood stream from Taj’s eye.

This could work to Riley’s advantage now as this may get stopped if the blood obscures his vision.

Anees Taj is starting to look like a body double for Rocky Balboa in the 12th round against Ivan Drago.

  • Viddal Riley vs. Anees Taj (Round 2)

Taj manages to land a big left on his opponent as they both swing punches at each other at the same time.

Riley is trying to work him with body shots.

Anees Taj is leading with the jab well.

  • Viddal Riley vs. Anees Taj (Round 1)

Both boxers take the first round easy as they sound each other out.

Taj goes for it initially, looking to finish this like he’s got a taxi with a meter running outside.

He lowers the levels for the rest of the round.

  • Next fight up……..

Now we move onto a cruiserweight bout.

    Viddal Riley vs. Anees Taj

Riley was sounding confident backstage earlier.

We are in for eight rounds in this one.

  • Tyler Denny vs. Brad Pauls

No surprise to the judges scores there.

    The champ retains his belt.

Pauls just couldn’t compete at the level needed to stop his opponent.

  • Tyler Denny wins by judges scores

  • Tyler Denny vs. Brad Pauls (Round 10)

Brad Pauls needs to knockout Denny in this round.

He doesn’t seem to realise this and is still boxing like we are all winners.

Denny is boxing like somebody who knows he has the points decision in the bag.

Brad Pauls looks very tired now.

His punches are landing with no power at all.

Denny lands a good right hand as blood spills onto the canvas.

That might be a broken nose.

  • Tyler Denny vs. Brad Pauls (Round 9)

It’s amazing how many punches to the back of the head land in these fights.

They are likely to more damage than anything else.

Then again, if referee pulled them up each time this happened, this fight would never finish.

Nothing of note in that round, other than it being the penultimate of the fight.

  • Tyler Denny vs. Brad Pauls (Round 8)

Both fighters land some big body shots.

Denny goes big with some combos and hooks but Pauls manages to duck and weave, dodging them all.

Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge.

Classic advice from a classic film.

Pauls lands some good jabs towards the end of the round.
