DAVID MOYES’ high flying West Ham will face Lyon in the Europa League quarter-finals and COULD face Barcelona in the semis.

The Hammers saw off six-time Europa League winners Sevilla with a 2-1 win on aggregate.

Goals by Tomas Soucek and Andriy Yarmolenko sealed a historic win at the London Stadium.

But now they will face French outfit Lyon in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

Moyes welcomes any challenger.

He said on Friday ahead of West Ham’s game against Tottenham: “They might all want to play West Ham because they see us as novices in this competition.

“They might see us as a side without much experience in Europe. I think if you’re going to play us, you know you’re in for a game.

“We always want to challenge the best teams and we are certainly getting a good group of teams now and we challenged a really good team last night against Sevilla and over the two legs just about did it.

“Whoever we get, we’re looking forward to it. We’ll challenge anybody who comes along.

“After seeing London Stadium the way it was last night, it would be good to have the second leg at home. I think that would be very good for us.”

Unfortunately for Moyes, his wish of playing the second leg at home won’t come true.

Lyon will travel to the London Stadium first, followed by a battle at the Groupama Stadium.
