Wayne Rooney’s DC United fail to score in third successive game with new boss desperate to seal Benteke transfer

And to make matters worse, they failed to score for the third successive match when they were subject to a 1-0 defeat to New England Revolution at the weekend.

Benteke was announced as DC United’s latest summer signing last week after leaving Crystal Palace.

DC United officials are optimistic that he will be able to link-up with Rooney and the squad before their clash with Philadelphia Union on August 20.
