A ROMANTIC football player had his proposal RUINED by an overzealous steward – who pushed his bride-to-be.
FC Smorgon star Vladislav Shubovich plotted a unique proposal to his long-time girlfriend during their match with Belarussian rivals Volna Pinsk.
And the perfect moment arose when the defender found the back of the net in the 85th minute to score only his second career goal and seal a 2-0 win for the home side.
Shubovich was quick to seize the golden opportunity, pointing to the crowd and beckoning his beloved to the touchline.
The 22-year-old got down on one knee and prepared to ask the life-changing question to the love of his life.
But before he could even pop the question, a male steward strong-armed his other half by forcefully shoving her away from the touchline.

Shubovich, understandably, reacted angrily and shoved the shorter steward after getting in his face.
The burly defender continued to rage at the killjoy before he was ushered away by the referee and the Smorgon players.
The steward’s removal paved the way for Shubovich to have a second crack at the proposal, which he nailed in front of his clapping team-mates.
After saying yes, Shubovich’s other half gave him a big kiss before receiving a bouquet of flowers from the defender.
